Yesterday 16th April we made an interview to Alberto Varela, an air traffic controlller from Jaraíz de la Vera who has been living in Dubai for four years.
The idea started in class speaking about Weather, Global Warming, Cloud seeding and Extreme Weather.
First, we decided to connect with the Spanish Army Gabriel de Castilla in Antarctica https://ejercito.defensa.gob.es/unidades/Antartica/antartica/videoconferencia/index.html
but due to Covid restrictions and confinement they couldn´t make the video conference the scheduled day. Then, we decided to know about extreme heat instead of extreme cold and we had the possibility to connect with Alberto who is always pleased to collaborate with our high School.
It was a pleasure to speak to him in English for almost one hour and to kinow many interesting facts about Dubai, its extreme weather and many other curiosities not only about Dubai and the Arab Emirates but also about many other countries he has travelled to by motorbike.
Music that is heard in Dubai.
ReplyDeleteI thought that another type of music was being heard in Dubai but Alberto told us that all kinds of music was heard, like here in Spain. In fact, he said that the previous week they had put on the radio Despacito in three languages.
Although the author of this comment is "anonymous" it has been published by Marina Porras. Congratulations for everything you know, Marina
DeleteIf I ask Alberto what would be the best station to visit Dubai. He tells me that the best station is winter because it is when temperatures are more comfortable than summer temperatures.

DeleteIn my opinion, it was a very curious and interesting interview. I think that I learned about this place and knew new things that I didn't know.
ReplyDeleteI feel that Alberto was very kind and he knew how to explain us his vision of the city, the customs, attitudes, people... that Dubai has.
If you ask me, It was a funny class that I would love to repeat again!
Shara.
