Quality Education Goal 4

The main objective of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDO) 4 Quality Education is to ensure inclusive, equitable and quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Education is a human right and one of the most effective instruments for reducing poverty and improving health, and achieving gender equality, peace and stability.

The worldwide school enrollment  has increased in recent years. However, the figures are still alarming: more than 265 million children worldwide are out of school.

In 1999, the completion rate, the percentage of college age children who actually completed primary school that year, was 73% in developing countries.

At the end of 2003, around 113 million children in the world were not enrolled in school.

Liberia has the highest percentage of out of school children, with almost two thirds of children of primary school age not attending school.

It is estimated that more than 50% of children who do not go to school live in conflict zones. There are also other pending problems, such as equality between men and women in education.

EDUCATION IS A HUMAN RIGHT!!
